Cordoba Minerals (TSXV: CDB) announced that it has recommenced fieldwork at its 100%-owned Alacrán copper-gold-silver project in Colombia.
In a press release, the Canadian company said that the restart follows the relaxation of covid-19 restrictions in the South American country and the expiry of the Alacrán title force majeure declared on May 24, 2020.
According to the miner, fieldwork is now focused on obtaining the technical information needed to complete the environmental impact assessment and the mining technical work plan required to secure the necessary Colombian mining approvals for the Alacrán deposit. The work will also allow the completion of a pre-feasibility study in compliance with National Instrument 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects.
Cordoba Minerals said that all of these requirements are expected to be finalized by Q4-2021.
“Three diamond drill rigs are currently mobilizing to the Alacrán site. Two drill rigs will initially provide drill core samples for metallurgical and geotechnical testing, while the third rig will focus on drilling holes for groundwater testing,” the media brief states. “In addition, acid rock drainage testing of the Alacrán ore body and host stratigraphy has begun. Environmental monitoring and sampling in and around the project’s area of influence remain ongoing.”
Alacrán is part of the larger San Matías project, located in the municipality of Puerto Libertador, in the northern Córdoba department.
