Ukraine seeks global experts to revive war-ravaged steel industry

BHP and Vale controlled company started on Monday its first shipment, five years after Fundão dam tragedy.

The owner of BSG Resources is accused of paying the wife of Guinea’s deceased former president to secure the concession rights to the Simandou iron ore project.

They will test a LandCruiser 70, converted from running on diesel to fully electric via onboard battery power.

Company estimates that only in 9 years it should reach a production scale between 22-24 million tonnes of iron ore per year, the same level as before the failure of the Fundão dam.

Project will add net capacity of 14 million tonnes per year at the Timbopeba site.

The mining giant wants to advance its climate partnership with China Baowu Steel.

The Australasian Joint Ore Reserves Committee Code regulates the integrity of public reporting of exploration results, mineral resources and ore reserves.

Company expects to produce 300-305 million tonnes this year, missing a previously lowered 2020 target of at least 310 million tonnes.

First production from the operation is target for mid-2021.
